| CELEBRITY PORTRAIT SHOWS AND PORTRAIT ARTIST MARK JORGENSON |
| My name is Mark Jorgenson and I am the artist who does the celebrity portraits on this site. I work in mixed media using watercolor marker and pastel, watercolor marker and colored pencil, watercolor marker and oil pastel or graphite and black permanent marker. I also use some gel pen or white acrylic for highlights. I am self taught and although I have read books which have helped me greatly I pretty much march to my own drum and do it my way. Most of the portraits of celebrities I have done have been at the request of customers and friends. I sell my originals some times but I prefer to sell prints which have the advantage of being affordable and which I can sell more than once. With digital technology and a high quality scanner and printer I have found I can make beautiful reproductions of my work for sale. The celebrity portrait prints I sell are available in a variety of sizes and formats. I offer 13 x 19 poster prints of my work for just $6.00. 11 x 14 prints in a 16 x 20 mat are available for just $10.00. 8 x 10 prints in a 11 x 14 mat are available for just $ 7.00. From Vin Diesel to John Wayne, from Angelina Jolie to Shirley Temple, from Scarface to Robert Deniro, from Tupac to Frank Sinatra, from Dale Earnhardt to Muhammad Ali I have a wide array of celebrity portrait artwork available for viewing. Feel free to spend some time take a look by right clicking on the pictures to see them bigger and enjoy yourself I also do cars , pets, babies, and family portraits as well as scenic art a little of everything for everyone. If you have any questions you can contact me at markayart@yahoo.com. I generally do the artwork 8 1/2 x 11 or 11 x 14 for scanning purpose but I have done pieces up to 24 x 36 of families. Some excellent books I recommend on portraiture are: How to draw lifelike portraits from photographs by Lee Hammond both the one on graphite and the one on colored pencil. How to draw children's portraits in pastel by Wendy Caporale and How to draw portraits in colored pencil by Ann Kuhlberg. Northlight Books publishes most of these books and it is the publishing end of The Artist magazine. I have sold my celebrity portrait artwork on Ebay on Yessy.com and at Overstock.com as well as arts and craft shows, sports card shows and flea markets like the Phoenix Park and Swap. I have shipped as far away as New Zealand and Denmark so you could say I am internationally known but in reality by just a few people but its still flattering. I have loved to draw since I was a little boy but only recently turned it into a business. My wife encouraged me to make it a business after I did a portrait of us little did I imagine that I would do over 350 portraits in the next few years. On my links page there are some websites with excellent portrait art tutorials feel free to visit the other artists sites as well. I also have some web promotion companies and poster companies in my site because they have helped me and because as an artist I found good sources to do portrait artwork on the poster sites. |

I also have some of my cars and scenic artwork on Art.com. I can work from life to do portraits but for most of my celebrity portraits I work from photographs and ad my own spin or interpretation to capture what I think is important in the resemblance or personality of my subject |
